It is situated on an 80 acre site with capabilities to load 13 rail cars per day and store 45,000 cords. Wood is purchased using a 60’, 60 ton scale. Bayside Timber is located within the Department of Transportation corridor allowing trucks with proper axles to haul wood to and from Michigan to a maximum of 154,000 pounds.

Principle structures include a forestry office and scale facility, mobile equipment garage, wood fired boiler and manufacturing facility. Chips are cut and screened to meet customer specifications prior to being loaded in rail cars or stored on the chip pad. Excess bark and fines are sold for energy production.

The plant has the capability to ship by rail or truck 365 days per year. Rail service is currently provided by Canadian National three days per week.
